Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

At St Agatha’s, we are an inclusive school and believe that all children thrive in an environment in which they are happy, challenged and secure: secure in the knowledge they are safe and cared for; challenged to achieve their best; and happy in the knowledge they are each appreciated for their individuality and their achievements.

We have high expectations of all our children in every aspect of school life. We endeavour to enable them each to achieve their potential through high standards of behaviour and outstanding learning experiences with sensitivity to the individual needs to all children.

We believe that early identification and intervention are paramount in supporting a child’s special educational needs and to this end we set individual targets and strategies to address their difficulties. These targets are reviewed regularly with parents and relevant staff in line with our Special Educational Needs Policy.

SEND Information

Please see below for information about how staff at St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School support children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). We are a mainstream school committed to the integration and inclusion of children with a differing range of needs into all aspects of school life. Please note that changes and developments occur naturally over the school year, so the details contained here are correct as of September 2014 and will reviewed and updated annually.
