  • Vocabulary Day

    St Agatha’s was buzzing with talk on Vocabulary Day, as staff and pupils rose to the challenge of coming to school as a word. From ‘discombobulated’ to ‘radiant’, from ‘energetic’ to ‘exhausted’, we had a wonderful array of words that stumped many. It’s Oracy October, so let’s keep talking and trying to enrich our vocab.

  • πŸ”¬Scientists at WorkπŸ”¬

    As scientists, Year 6 have been investigating the heart and circulatory system, and it turns out that not only have they discovered how the heart works and its parts, but we have learnt that they are fantastic model makers. ✨

    When asked if they would recommend the lessons to Year 5 - they reported it was great fun, but they didn't like the smell of the hearts during the dissection!

    Our primary stars traded their uniforms for our Rockstar and Robot Day! πŸŽΈπŸ€–

    Our pupils took part in online TTRS Battles and raised the roof singing 'We Will Rock You'! Some of the children took on the ultimate challenge in Beat the Teacher!

    She shared her Olympic journey and winning Dancing on Ice, inspiring our pupils to keep their bodies moving. Being active is fun, empowering and for everyone! A huge thank you for taking the time to come and visit us.

  • St George's Cathedral Mass

    We were honoured to be invited to attend the 'Beginning of the Year' Mass at St George's Cathedral. One of the highlights was meeting the Archbishop.  It was a beautiful sunny day and a lovely start to the new term.

    After 13 years of dedicated service, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Headteacher. 🌟
    Yesterday’s special send-off was a fitting tribute to everything Mrs Cahill has given to our school. The children put on a truly wonderful afternoon, showcasing heartfelt goodbye performances through song 🎢, poetry πŸ“–, and dance πŸ’ƒ.

  • ✨ Country Dancing Festival! ✨

    22 schools came together for a fantastic celebration of country dancing πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί
    Year 2 took part in six dances, showing off a mix of different formations – all that practise really paid off!
    Weeks of hard work, coordination, timing and teamwork led to such a brilliant performance.πŸ‘ They did incredibly well (even in the heat! β˜€οΈ).
    The final dance saw adults being dragged in to join… chaotic but SO much fun.
    A lovely reminder from the compere too — country dancing is such an important part of our culture, and it’s something special to share with each other πŸ’›
    And it’s not over yet… the children will be performing again at Mrs Cahill’s leaving picnic πŸŽ‰πŸ‘€ Watch this space!

    Doves class had a fantastic time during this week’s science lesson, exploring microhabitats and investigating the question: πŸ‘‰ Do woodlice prefer damp or dry conditions?
    Armed with trowels and lots of curiosity, the children hunted for woodlice in our outdoor learning area—searching under logs and leaves to record their findings. πŸͺ΅πŸ‚
    A fantastic hands-on lesson full of teamwork, discovery, and outdoor learning! πŸŒπŸ’š

    We’re so excited to be in the process of opening our brand new Outdoor Learning Area – a sunny space designed to support learning through play, exploration and hands on experiences.

    ✨ The area will include:

    🌼 A garden area

    Donations are already flooding in thanks to our generous parents, but we’re still looking for more natural and reusable items for the children use.

  • 🌼 Dandelion Day Success! 🌼

    April is the Month of the Military Child, and this year we were proud to recognise, celebrate, and support these incredible young people through our Dandelion Day.

    A huge thank you to our special guests for taking the time to visit and share in such a meaningful day. We are especially grateful to our wonderful military children for their courage and openness in sharing their stories — we all learned something new and inspiring.
    Thank you to everyone who showed their support by wearing yellow and donating so generously. Together, we raised an amazing £204 for Little Troopers, helping to make a real difference for military families. ❀️
